Description

This was taken near the end of a visit to Burrator Reservoir on Dartmoor. We had driven up there on the spur of the moment (if a 15 mile drive can be a spur of the moment thing) and arrived at Nosworthy Bridge to the north of the lake just before dusk. After parking the car up, we jumped a stile and followed the river towards the lake. I took quite a few shots I was pleased with but I have always disliked the messiness of bare branches jumbling up the backgrounds of my river shots. We didn't have long to stay here unfortunately, as the evening was drawing in and I had promised the kids KFC if they behaved themselves.

Technically, not much has been done to this photo. I'm trying to keep my photos as natural as possible. There's a slight boost to contrast, saturation and sharpness and that's it. I fitted a Hoya CPL filter and set the Nikon to f25 on aperture priority, which gave me an 8-sec exposure.

I hope you like it. Please keep comments and critiques constructive because I'm keen to learn and my ego still bruises easily.
